About The Event
The Recovery Tree project is to recognize the people in recovery and identify the community that supports people in recovery. It’s about community awareness and reducing the stigma that hangs over people that struggle with addiction and mental health diagnosis.
At PEER Wellness a tree has been painted on the wall without the leaves, this is where people in recovery will come and represent their recovery by adding a leaf, the person’s handprint, to the tree to represent their recovery. They can identify their leaf, by signing it with their year they started in recovery, initials, or name. It is the person’s choice of how to put an identifier on it. Each of us have their own meaning in recovery.
There will be gold and silver leaves that that will be on the ground of the mural that will represent people that have died from their addiction and or mental health diagnoses.
The tree itself will be the community supporting the “leaves” people in recovery.
Would you like to come and represent your recovery in this project???
No matter how long you have been in recovery that is how much you would donate to put your handprint on one of the tree branches, $1 per year.
The memory leaves are a standard donation of $25.00 for the Silver Leaf and $50.00 for the Gold Leaf.
Community Sponsors can donate 100.00 and up to show their support for the people in recovery.
